Agile Amped Podcast - Inspiring Conversations

Apr 18, 2019

Pioneer in Lean-Agile People Operations (formally known as “HR”) and CEO of Just Leading Solutions LLC, Fabiola Eyholzer uses science and statistics to help level the playing field for women in the business world. The data is compelling and it supports overwhelmingly the truly human characteristics that agile leaders portray: collaboration, communication, transparency and more. In other words, Agile leadership qualities could be described in words that are generally considered “feminine” or things that women excel at.

This isn’t lost to Eyholzer, who believes that diversity of thought is what drives success, and the cross-functional team concept that is deeply ingrained in Agile is evidence. But there is still a long way to go to equality and thus greater diversity of thought, and job hiring practices are an area that needs attention: While women make 53% of the new hires overall, only 3% of the new hires for leadership positions are female.

Eyholzer provides concrete tips for improving your hiring process – from job description to interviewing – so that it can be the gateway toward innovation and growth via diversity of thought.
